As the air comes in contact with the cold refrigerant, heat is transferred from the air to the refrigerant, cooling down the air.

 

The refrigerant, now heated, turns back into a gas and goes through the compressor again to repeat the cycle. This continuous circulation of refrigerant and heat exchange between the refrigerant, air, and vehicle components ensures the cooling effect of the car air conditioning system.
